16.11.2011

It’s nearly been a whole year since this boy proposed to me. I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone, or that very soon I will be able to say “I get married in 12 months!” …before I know it I’ll be Mrs Lavers.

Woah!

(In a good “woah” way of course!)

Pinning

Pinterest is actually the greatest thing ever when you’re looking for inspiration or ideas.

Just some of my favourite Wedding picks this week.

Have you guys signed up yet? Get on it if you haven’t!

Too soon?

We aren’t sending out Save the Dates until later next year (even being the crazy organised freak that I tend to be - I know it’s wayyy too early for that!), but when this arrived in my inbox I couldn’t help but share it with you guys.

What you’re actually looking at is a stamp, that has been made for Rick and I. (I love thoughtful surprise presents.) I do realise it’s for envelopes, but when this goodie arrives, I plan on stamping every piece of paper I come across.

Rick and I happily crossed off the two things on our “Wedding To Do List” for the year (setting the date and finding the perfect reception venue - check and check!), and even though it’s over 18 months away, I think it’s worth making a fuss over.

Plus it’s rude not to use someones gift, right?

I’m really excited for our future :)

Wedding Songs

  • Bride Entrance
  • Interlude (signing the documents etc)
  • Recessional Song
  • Reception Entrance
  • First Dance
  • Father Daughter Dance
  • Mother Song Dance
  • Cake Cutting
  • Bouquet Toss
  • Leaving Reception

Rick and I aren’t getting married until 2013. There are two things we want to pick this year, a date, and a venue. We decided that having a date and venue sorted means we can start buying some of the smaller costing items here and there this year (so all of the things Rick would tell me are a waste of money if we got them in one go), then we can concentrate on the really big expensive items next year (food, booze and most importantly, my dress). Smart right?

Naturally, we’ve been thinking about what songs we want to use instead.

We already had a few songs picked. We knew we wanted to use them at our Wedding before we were engaged. Surely that meant picking the rest would be easy!? Wrong.

Now, I don’t know if I want to use a particular song for this or that, or if that song suits cutting the cake? Would it suit the bouquet toss more? Is this song even Wedding appropriate? We want a song for each of the things we listed above. What did you use on your Wedding Day? Did you use songs for something we haven’t thought of? Did you not have songs for some of the things we are?

I’d love to hear from everyone - engaged or married, single or in a relationship - your opinions might save my ears from some disastrous songs!

(We so should of stuck to the date & venue plan)

Sneak Peek

This Morning I got home after spending two nights down South shooting a gorgeous Wedding in Margaret River. Corey and Adrian were such a cute couple, very in love and I felt privileged to be apart of their special day and to be trusted to capture these moments for them. I even teared up during the Maid of Honor’s speech! I can’t blog the photos yet, but here is a sneak peek.
