New Years Resolutions Update 1

  1. Spend more time outside
  2. Save money for our Wedding
  3. Read books more regularly
  4. Wear my hair down at least once or twice a week instead of my usual top of my head bun
  5. Ride my bike to work, once I’m more confident of course
  6. Start personal photography projects so that I’m always feeling creative and/or inspired
  7. No more unnecessary clothing purchases (this is probably going to be the hardest)
  8. Stop letting my nail polish chip off and leaving it like that for weeks
  9. Keep the kitchen cupboard and fridge properly stocked like adults
  10. Sort out the business side of my photography

So. I was having a look at my resolutions, to see how I was going at sticking to them, when I decided that each month I am going to blog on my progress and if I am succeeding/failing at my goals for the year. The above 10 resolutions, are ones I have stuck to pretty awesomely so far.

I am definitely spending more time outside, still not as much as I should, but we just had a boiling heat wave in Perth so staying inside hiding was my only option. Our savings for the Wedding are coming along nicely, because I started reading more regularly - I just finished The Hunger Games - why did it take me so long to find those amazing novels? Seriously I was hooked within the first chapter and now I am embarrassed to admit how inlove with the series I am. (Which I just admitted to.) Although while I type this, my hair is in a bun, I have totally kicked ass at this resolution. My hair is down, or in some kind of style that isn’t a top knot, at least 3 or 4 times a week. I’ve ridden my bike to work twice, but I couldn’t for a while due to a flat tyre - I am back on the riding bandwagon this week though. After a photography Workshop I went to in Melbourne recently, the photography side of things are looking awesome too. I have a lot of personal projects I am working on, one to be posted about soon, and my business side of things are coming along nicely. When I’m happy with the progress I’ll post about properly too. I’ve had one or two minor clothing purchases, but I’m proud to say they were NOT unnecessary, and I’ve done so well at avoiding sales and being stricter with my spendings. The cupboard might not be stocked so well at the moment, but I DID clean it out entirely and reordered everything so it’s the neatest ever - the stocking will commence shortly :)

But the resolution I am most proud of keeping so far? My beautifully polished nails. These babies haven’t been chipped once!

Aren’t you the proudest?

I also have a few New Year Resolutions for Rick, like, closing doors behind him, turning lights off when he leaves a room, filling water bottles up instead of collecting them on his bed side table, and to remove clothes only in the bedroom, instead of left randomly throughout the house.

It’s been a very, very hectic week here at Rigbys house, and I have a few things to blog about, like house guests, Christmas, my birthday, and all sorts of other amazing things. This festive season really has been incredibly, filled with fun and laughter (and many many hangovers) but I am SO ready for 2012, a fresh clean start.

I’ll be back during the week with all of my updates. For now, I am off to the City to celebrate the New Year with a few close friends and my boy - did you know it’s our 5 year Anniversary tomorrow? What a perfect way to start 2012 right?

Have a Happy and Safe New Year family, friends & fellow bloggers.
