Art & the Heart

Some pictures from the Art & the Heart Photography Workshop I attended earlier in the year. I’ve mentioned it once or twice :) I was lucky enough to have my picture taken by the ever so talented Samm Blake & Dan O’Day :)

Instagram says:

That this is what I’ve been doing lately. We had a long weekend just gone, and I was stuck home with a sore eye but still managed to keep myself pretty busy. Oh, and also?

A belated Happy Easter from the bulldog :)

Yesterday afternoon, during sunset, I was taking photos of my boy down at the beach. I love the way they’ve turned out.

I can’t believe how lucky I am some days.

Weekend by Instagram

So. The weekend was perfect. Not only was Friday my RDO, but I woke up to my beautiful fiance. Hoorah! I picked him up Thursday night and it’s so flippin fantastic having him home. He totally made us eggs on toasts for breakfast, a healthy (minus the energy drink) start to the day before our Celebrant came over to go through some Wedding paper work with us.

Then we took a bike ride down to the beach front to visit Rick’s Mama, sister & the kiddos.

Check out the beard! He is growing it, we both want to see what he looks like with a proper beard. I am so excited by it, and I kind of love Rilla with a beard.

After the beach - I came home to a parcel patiently waiting for me. Filled with Topshop goodies my Pa bought me.

That night, Jess & Belle picked us up for dinner at Outback Jacks before we went to the movies. The garlic bread here is amazing. So is the steak. I went with the chicken though, which was also amazing. I talk about food a lot right?

Mmmhmm. THE HUNGER GAMES. A group of us went to Gold Class to watch it. I don’t think anyone would understand if they went to see the movie without having read the books, but, I also think it’s their own fault. You always read the book before seeing the movie. I, of course, have read the books, and loved them, LOVED THEM SICK, so naturally I liked the movie. I think they did a good job too, but we did have a few too many drinks (benefits of Gold Class you see) so the boy and I want to go and see it again before he goes back to work.

Raquel went to Bali recently for a holiday - and bought us back some treats. Well, she bought Nicole and I some treats, and Rick stole one of them. Before the movie we each were given a bracelet, Nikki too - and we’ve made a bet between the three of us whoever wears theirs the longest, wins. $50 EACH is riding on this bet too, you guys. I must win.

I had a very early start on Saturday, and was on the Freeway by 8.30am so my Mama and I could make it to a Wedding dress appointment on time. It went perfectly, and I am very excited and happy with my dress progress :)

Then we went Antique-n afterwards.

And then we had some lunch.

And then my Mum took me to an amazing furniture and decor store. I fell completely in love with every item they had stocked. Especially that giant mirror with the gorgeous black frame you can see in the back there. Only 6k. And you know what? I’d pay it. If I had 6k, I would buy that beautiful mirror and I would love it forever.

I came home from the City with fresh flowers, and a handful of plants - new succulents and catcus! I can’t kill these kinds of plants - and that’s why I am sticking to them and only them.

Sunday Morning was spent actually repotting them, and I love the end results. So pretty and easy to take care of!

Then? On Sunday night? The greatest thing in the world happened. Brig had come over earlier during the day, and we got to talking about food. Surprise surprise… but. We both wanted the same thing for dinner. I couldn’t make them as good as Brig, and Brig couldn’t make them at all at her house due to lack of a working oven (rentals!). 30mins later, Wisang was over on his laptop, Rick was playing on his computer, Brig and I had returned from IGA and was in the process of making this incredible dinner for us all. And by ‘Brig and I’, of course I mean Brig. She makes the best gravy, ever. I ate far too much, and finished it off with an unncessary serving of dessert. BEST.

Earlier during the week, my Dad gave me a gift card for Myers, that he’d been given from work etc etc etc… my Sunday night was spent trying to pick what to use it for. It’s basically free money you guys. Do I buy the mixer I’ve been wanting? (Well, really the one I would have bought isn’t what I want. I WANT THE KITCHEN AID. That baby is $750. I pray someone will buy it for me/us as a Wedding present. I pray.) Do I buy the fancy smancy chopping board Rick wants? A fancy smancy dinner set? No. No. I buy. A clothes steamer. Heck. Yes. Free money should be used on items that are completely useful, but generally something you wouldn’t/couldn’t buy. A mixer will come. A chopping board will come. Fancy dinner sets a plenty will come. AND NOW, SO WILL A STEAMER!

There’s my weekend, summed up by instagram photos. How was your weekend? :)

(I plan on buying the chopping board for the boy as an Easter Present. We both seem to love new kitchen items at the moment, so it works for a present for us both, from us both. We are going to rock at being married.)

Nephews & things.

Before

After.

Funny how a tiny little baby that doesn’t do much besides sleep, eat & smile a lot, can become such an important part of your life. And that’s just from an Aunty’s perspective!

It’s been 3 months since this little guy entered our lives, and if he’s exceeded my expectations, I can only imagine what his Mama & Papa are feeling. Baby Clay, you are my favourite pirate in all the land and I can’t wait to keep watching you grow :) (Also, I’m pretty happy/grateful you already like me. Please keep those smiles coming my way okay?)
