Honeymoon-ing.

Last night we planned how long we want to travel and where we want to go on our Honeymoon.

I am so excited you guys.

We decided to stick with Europe (we’ve been jumping back and forth between Europe and USA) and have picked a few places we want to see during our 4 week trip. The first email has been sent to our travel agent, and now the fun begins, picking hotels, sites to see and dates for each City. We should probably find a venue first still, but you know, the world of Wedding Planning has been a bit frustrating in regards to finding a venue, so planning the fun, romantic, historic, beautiful and new places we’ll go to for our Honeymoon is just so much better. We want to go to places neither of us have been before, but I’m going to sneak a little Paris time in there. How can we not go to the City of Love on our Honeymoon?

Where did you or where do you want to go for your Honeymoon? Did you backpack? Stay in hostels? I don’t really know if the hostel scene is really for us… but it’s so expensive otherwise. We want to do a few tours so we can meet new people and get the most out of each new place we visit. I’m already planning what camera gear I want to take. We aren’t going anywhere overseas this year while we save for the Wedding. And while it’s totally worth it - I must admit I’m pretty damn excited to get on a plane for that dreaded 4000 hour flight to explore somewhere new. With my husband, too!

Destination - Sydney

Right now, I am hoping on a plane to Sydney (actually I might have even departed by now, my flight is supposed to leave at 8.00am but who knows with Qantas).

I’m only going to be away for a few days - I’m home on Monday, but I’m pretty excited regardless. I have a super busy weekend;

Thursday: I arrive in Sydney just after lunch. By the time I get to my hotel, settle in, and then meet up with Jess, Stuart & Tornado Tiah (who are also having a mini getaway to Sydney!), I can’t imagine I’ll be doing much else.
Friday: Meet & greet with Kristine & Kevin, and a visit to the Country Club. And hopefully some shopping. Also, I really am hanging out to take a trillion photos of Tiah being adorable around Sydney. And then a delicious dinner somewhere! And thennnnnnn…
Saturday: WEDDING! My first, very own Wedding photographer job. I’ve done a few Weddings now, but as second shooter, not by myself. And not as a photographer with a business. It’s exciting and scary and… real. I might actually one day make a career out of my passion for photography. Man I hope so!
Sunday: Okay. I am going to admit it. I’m excited/nervous for Saturday. But Sunday means Harry Potter Exhibition. I am just plain flippin excited for Sunday. And I just don’t think I can contain my nerdy excitement either. The Harry Potter Exhibition. I might cry. Or wet myself. (Yes, if you haven’t noticed by now, I’m that kind of HP fan.) If Jessica let me I would totally be dressing up as Hermione.*
Monday: Early flight home with Jess & co, to my beautiful bulldog, and Christmas ready home.

You guys. YOU. GUYS. I am so nervous. And excited. And pumped!

Wish me luck.

*I wouldn’t actually dress up. I’m not that kind of fan.

We’re on a boat!

Well… we were last year anyway. Nicole and I, rowing ourselves around, the first day we were in Rome.

Our tour didn’t start until the following day, and man… was it hard trying to work out what to do or where to go or who to ask for help - a new place, where noone spoke English (not good English anyway), with a bunch of old sleazey men following us around… we kind of just went with whatever happened that day, it was way too hot to get ourselves worked up when a 2 week jam packed tour was commencing in the Morning.

But it was fun. Especially once we got to this huge park. We spent maybe an hour walking around until we found the park (it felt like we found gold - just having found something that wasn’t a hill or road), then we spent another hour looking for these motorised bike things, and when we did… within 5 minutes we had crashed and fallen out. We actually hurt ourselves, quite badly really when I think about it, cuts and bruises and sprains and swollen wrists and thumbs, but could do nothing but hysterically laugh while the man renting the bikes talked at us in Italian.

We gave up on the bikes, found a food cart, I drank a delicious lemon ice drink… I can’t remember what it was called, and started walking again.

It feels like years ago we went on this trip, not just last year. I’m glad we did though, I couldn’t of imagined going to Italia with anyone but my little Luigee!

(P.S - I stole this photo from Nikki. P.P.S - yes, this is all we sang the entire time we were on that little row boat.)

Where next?

  1. London
  2. Paris
  3. Disneyland (this place deserves it’s own number you guys. Dreams come true there.)
  4. Italy
  5. Switzerland

Where to next? Day dreaming (it’s 1am, night dreaming? I guess that’s actually dreaming? Anyway…) of the perfect destination for my honeymoon with Rick.

Rick says Vegas. I say New York. Maybe France. Maybe Ireland…

How long can I play this game for? Hopefully long enough to make myself tired enough to attempt sleeping in that big stupid empty bed of mine.

(I might actually be having a tanty on my blog about Rick going back to work. I’ve been awake too long to know.)

Melbourne: In Pictures

While waiting for our bags to arrive at the hotel so we could change, we went to this trendy little bowling alley called Rockstar Bowling, we drank beer, tried to beat Corey and complained a billion times about the crappy lane we were given and how it kept stuffing up.

Rick & I spent the Saturday Morning walking around taking photos before meeting up with everyone for Saturday afternoon & night plans : )

Corey being a stud at the Football game. (Which, in all honesty, was boring. I’m so not an AFL fan.)

Some photos Rick took of me in the wrong setting on the camera, which actually turned out pretty cool.

Cupcakes! So, so delicious. Red velvet is my new favourite flavour ever.

Not even kidding. This dog just chilled on this bike the whole time! He sat there while his owner pulled him along, and he stood up to get treats or pats! Rigby would never ever ever even allow us to TRY and teach him this!

On our last day in Melbourne we killed some time at Starbucks before we left for the airport. Suddenly we all turned into boring adults reading books, newspapers & doing crossword puzzles. It’s okay though, Rick saved the day with a How I Met Your Mother joke.

Melbourne, you were fun, hope to see you again soon : )
