For the boy:

Remember I told you guys a few months ago that Rick bought me a bike for my birthday? Well. See the picture above? It’s MY bikes matching bike for MEN (or the same model but for men… I prefer to believe the bikes are a set).

Naturally we have to get it for Rick. For one, I love matching. In that cute way, matching PJ bottoms, you know? Not in that, dressed the same head to toe, ‘you guys are weird’ way. I digress.

Secondly - when I first got my bike, we got Rick a cheapo bike so we could ride around together. The cheapo is actually a pretty good bike, but we always said we’d eventually get a nicer one for him, mainly because I was already planning on having matching ones (in the cute way!), and last weekend at the beach his pedal broke, so… I think he needs this brand spanking new baby. He however, does not think this. Maybe he doesn’t like the style? Maybe he doesn’t want a new new bike.

But. I promise you. I will buy this bike for him. And I will give it to him as a birthday present. So he has no choice but to love and ride the bicycle everywhere we go.

Presents for people that are really presents for yourself, they’re the best kind aren’t they?

December 7th, 2011

My favourite month of the year.

Even with December being the most hectic month of the year, it’s still my favourite month. Besides Christmas, I celebrate my birthday, my anniversary, engagement anniversary, countless birthdays (as you might have picked up) and New Years Eve. Plus, it’s just such a happy time of the year. Christmas Spirit and all that jazz.

It’s without a doubt the most expensive and busy month for us - but I love it. I just love December. My first week of December started off nicely, a 59 month anniversary with the boy (nearly 5 years for us!), a trip to Sydney, a Wedding & on Monday afternoon… a very special someone arrived.

Our nephew! My beautiful and amazing sister in law Isobelle and her husband Daniel welcomed their precious little boy, Clay. He arrived at 5.07pm, weighed exactly the same as his Mama when she was born, and has taken after his Dad with his height. I couldn’t be happier for them all, and I am completely smitten with this little cutie. Congratulations guys, he is perfect!

Reek and Rigo’s Birthday Party

About 2 weeks ago now (I’ve been busy… or slack?) we celebrated Rick and Rigbys birthday! Rick turned 24, and Rigby turned 2…or 14. Rick’s birthday was on a Monday so we decided to do a joint birthday party and celebrate my boys birthdays together on the Saturday before with family and friends.

Rilla’s Mum and his sister’s made the “Rigby” bulldog cake for him, he had a similar cake when he was a little boy, and we ordered Rigby’s dog cake from The Dog Bakery. Yes, it was totally corny of us, but I was so sick and bedridden for Rigbys first birthday in 2010 that we didn’t even get him a present, so I had to go all out for him this year.

We had a BBQ with family during the day, before our friends arrived that night to commence the messy and loud drinking.

Rigby basically slept for 2 days straight afterwards, so we know he enjoyed his day playing with all of the kids, and Rick and I couldn’t move from the couch at all on Sunday so I know he enjoyed his day and night too.

Big thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us and a special shout out to Brig for bringing delicious party food along for everyone!
