Today Rick and I have been together for 5 years and 1 month.

Little anniversary’s count too, you know.

Anniversarys

Today I have been engaged for one year. This time last Christmas Eve, I was at work, waiting to finish for the day to come home and watch cheesy Christmas movies with Rick. I had no idea he had another plan in mind, and normally I’m a bit fussy about plans changing, but I was pretty happy with this one, so I let it slide.

The year has gone incredibly quickly. It feels strange knowing we’ve been engaged for 12 months already, and will soon be jumping into Wedding planning mode. It just doesn’t feel like it’s gone that fast? And it seems insane that I’m planning my own Wedding? I’m getting married soon? What? Huh?!

I think it comes down to the fact that I never thought I’d be lucky enough to fall in love with someone who happens to be my best friend, and some how, who happened to love me back. At least not this early in life. But I did, and words can’t describe how happy and grateful I am that that is how my life worked out. I will spend our future together trying to make that boy as happy as he makes me.

I’m sure glad you proposed a year ago Rick, and I can’t wait to start planning and booking and saving for the day I become Mrs Lavers.

Happy Engagement Anniversary :)

It’s nearly been a whole year since this boy proposed to me. I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone, or that very soon I will be able to say “I get married in 12 months!” …before I know it I’ll be Mrs Lavers.

Woah!

(In a good “woah” way of course!)

December 2nd, 2010

I love Rick. I always whinge when it’s time for present buying because he always asks me to pick something or he always buys a super big present (his birthday is in October, then we have Christmas, and our Anniversary on the 1st of Jan - but my birthday is in the middle of Christmas and our Anniversary so he has all three at once!) because I want him to think of it all on his own and be thoughtful and blah blah..

It happens every year, and I always end up picking - but I end up loving that I’ve picked my own things because the following things happen;

I pick a few items, and tell him to pick his favourite out of them. Then it kind of feels like he did something on his own still.

a) He picks the most expensive..

OR

b) He says I can get them all!

So this Christmas, I get lots of cute winter accessories for my trip to London in January, beanies, snoods & mittens in all sorts of colours : ) For my birthday I am getting two kaftans, both are gorgeous and perfect for our Aussie Summer.. and for our anniversary I am getting a gorgeous painting for our bedroom from this amazing American Artist I found.

Rilla is a good boyfie. Even when I am always getting mad at him for making a mess around the house during his week home I still love him.
